Ok, so I HATE the stock color of my wheels. I need your help figuring out how to change them.
I was at CAS a few weeks ago, and I REALLY liked the challenger hellcat wheels. They are like a dark gunmetal with a mix of gold/bronze. Exactly what I was thinking really for my car. What do you think? I'm open to more bronze/gold, less, etc. But can't figure out what combo to do.
Then question- how should I make them with plasti-dip? Anthracite grey as base, add copper metalizer, gold metalizer, or just vintage gold? Add in silver metalizer flake in the middle? Add in glossifier?
Or go with a black coat and one of those combos? I suck shit with color unfortunately. I WILL test on something random before my wheels, but I just can't figure it out. I'd like to eventually buy wheels in said color, but want to get a feel with dip first.
Thoughts?

I think the color on the Hellcat wheels would look killer on your ST. If you can replicate it, I'd say to give it a shot.

Thanks man. The replicate part is the hard part :(
I can't figure out between gold metalizer, copper metalizer, or vintage gold.
Past that, black or grey or gun metal base coat? dafuq is colorz

Would look good. Do some tests on aluminum cans or something to try to get the right look.

Yeah I'll be doing that. I just don't know what to buy. Don't want to end up spending a fortune on dip really

Ehhh I'm not a fan of the white thing. A bit too ricer for me on the FoST. I like subtlety.
Not that it looks bad, just not my tastes. Thanks though, cuz it does look good on that SVT.

White is always a classic choice.

That would look pretty good, just make sure that you actually would like the look before you completely commit to doing it. Maybe try it first on a small piece of metal or something.

Yeah I plan to try it on a small piece first. Then dip the wheels, and probably remove at end of summer and sell the stock wheels for better wheels in a similar color if it turns out I like it.

Hm, seeing it in action actually looks better than expected.

Yeah, I gotcha there. I'd almost think Copper Metalizer, but I'm really not too sure. I'd probably lay down a gun metal base coat but, again, I'm not positive. Lol

i feel like it comes out stronger in a photo than in real life. At least its not neon green.

Haha right? It's so difficult to gauge colors.

Yeah neon green is gross. Someone else posted a FoST with white stockies, actually isn't too bad. Decisions decisions...

I would go with more of a copper/gold look. It would look great with the performance blue. I will be doing the same with my stock FoST wheels once the summers go back on with the new wheels I'm getting (if/when winter ends). When do you plan on dipping your wheels? I should have mine off and ready to be dipped sometime next month. Maybe I can give you a sneak peek.

For sure. That's why most of my friends just stick with black or solid colors :p

they are nice looking wheels. The bronze color is nice but I wouldn;t go as dark as the hellcat. With the dark color it will probably wont show the design/details

Yeah that's a concern of mine. I was thinking of going a grey base coat instead of black and trying to add in some silver flake as well to brighten it up a bit.
Not sure ;(

Looks like you did a great job. Is that anthracite? Or black?

LOL. I do like rado, but it just looks like a focus Titanium then :(

I feel like you really need radial spoke rally type wheels to go white IMHO.
I'm strongly considering going vintage gold dip on my black FoST. GIS results look pretty good.

They look really damn good. but on my blue I'll look to scoobie.
So I kinda want that darkness with a subtle hint of gold/bronze

No way, the Titanium wheels look way different! Also the grey like the Hellcat rims look much nicer than black, which is a little overdone now.

Black. I was going to do anthracite before I saw black on sale at Home Depot. I'm pretty happy with it. It has been durable.

Yeah black is too fad and doesn't show the wheels at all then.

Thanks! Maybe I'll go black base coat then.

OH DAMN! That's great to see pictures of that. That's actually not quite what I'm going for, but SUPER helpful pictures.
How have they held up? Any glossifier over those?

cool no worries! Uh held up great two years fine, no glossifier though. Actually just started peeling them to re do. The finish has finally succumbed to the brake dust on the fronts. Started to Look dull. I'll probably do the same color again as it looks excellent when clean. I could literally power wash them up close to remove the brake dust though. I'm installing an lsd soon hopefully it will stop or lessen the brake dust. The plastidip isn't coming off the inside of the wheels very well as its more course finish though.
